When I was in Birmingham, Rollin' In The Hay asked me to play pedal steel for several of the "Hayfest" and "Rollin' In The Holly" shows at WorkPlay. These events featured the area's top players and always drew a receptive and excited bunch of Hay fans. Onstage, there were great opportunities for musical fellowship, as the lineups changed on most every song and all our varied styles combined to create many potent musical moments. Jamming with Rollin' In The Hay and Birmingham's best was always a treat, and an evening of great music was guaranteed. I wasalways honored to be asked to play at these shows and always had a great time! A couple personal highlights of these gigs was a chance to jam with my old musicalcomrade Moose Harrell for the first time in over thirty years, and taking to the stageseveral times alongside legendary Muscle Shoals bassist David Hood.
