Consciousness stirs, with no self-awareness save that which is observed as roughly 'other'. As 'mind' is born, perception unfolds...expanding its reach and feel. Though in its essence there's no memory of what was 'before', the concept of 'now' does start to take shape. The emerging being senses that there's much more than just a 'spark' to its existence, and willfully broadens control of its expanse. At first, it's a slugglish yet orderly flexing of muscles as it marshals the forces over which it has dominion. Then, motion gains momentum and refinement, as it learns to 'walk' and then to 'run'. Initial realization of 'self' ensues...and as awareness settles into reality, the entity rests. Looking inward for the first time, a question arises: What Are Me? What Are Me? © 2024 - Joey Arata
